Linear guides have a very important role in the operation of machine tools as they guarantee the linear displacement of elements while minimising friction and heating. The linear guide is composed of two elements: a rail and a pad on which the load to move is attached.

Linear guides must have numerous properties to meet the requirements of machine manufacturers. In particular, they must be:

• Very precise in their operation (pre-loaded therefore no play)
• Very rigid
• Offering very high load capacities
• Have good sealing
• Be resistant to breakage

Lastly, linear guides must be able to be mounted quite easily. Vermeire has a cutting and assembly workshop to be able to supply you with cutting to measure of linear guides, adapted to you needs from standard parts.
